"Anyone interested in lunch from Food Shack?"
That was the content of my team leader's email to the whole team. This is her second time doing this since i joined but i hear that she does this quite often. Her generosity ranged from meals to gifts and even cash, on some occasions.
As everyone replied the email with their orders, Shade sat in my team leader's office calling Food Shack to place the orders. In 30 minutes, our burgers and fries had arrived and I could hear nothing but praises for my team leader from everyone on the team.
So here is what i have learned about my team leader after 1 month with this company:
Ms. Annabelle Ayoola, early 40's, never been married, does not like to be taken for granted, puts up a tough front but in reality - very soft hearted, big spender on anything that brings comfort (e.g. spa, food and alcohol) and most of all - always in search of someone to delegate to.
As much as everyone of us hated the delegation part, we could never complain because we were always rewarded with a good meal.
Lesson:
Exodus 23:8 "Take no bribes, for a bribe makes you ignore something that you clearly see. A bribe makes even a righteous person twist the truth."
