Fourteen
It was 10.30pm and I was finally on my way home from work.
I was tired and sleepy. My team leader had added another project to my plate for trying to leave the office at 5. Grateful for the traffic lights on Ozumba Mbadiwe street, I took short naps in between red lights. And then guess what happened! I drove into the car infront of me. If it was a regular car, this wouldn't be an issue.
I stepped out of my car to see the damage and realised that it was a minor scratch. Notwithstanding, this is one of those cars that you would need to sell your whole car just to repair one part. Yes, it was the amazing Mercedes AMG C43 sedan!
The driver of the car stepped down. Kolade... as in, stealer-of-glances-Kolade!
He looked hot and expensive - and tired. One glance at me and then at the scratch, then he goes "You! You hit my car?"
"I am so, so sorry. I will pay for any damage. I mistakenly slept off. I had a really long day."
He scoffed. He actually scoffed!
"Well I doubt you can handle this bill. Still let's exchange numbers and our insurance companies can sort it out."
And that's how I got Kolade's number. This time, I didn't want it anymore.
