Nine

We stayed staring at each other until I heard her office door open.

It was Shade.

“Hello! You asked to see me Ma?” She said so sweetly.

“Shade, I sent this lady to you and yet she sent a wrongly filled form to the client.”

“I am sorry Ma. As I explained in the e-mail, it was all my fault. I told her what to do but I don’t understand why she filled it that way. Maybe she didn’t understand what I said.” Then looking at me, Shade says, “why didn’t you ask questions if you didn’t understand. I would have explained again”.

With that, she walked out of the office.

Wooow… Shade is a Legend! Did she really just say that?!

In this moment, I was thanking God for all my experiences of being wrongfully accused by my siblings. As the last of six children, I have a lot of experience in taking the blame for things that I had no idea about.

In all of that, I have learned that sometimes, you need to allow people to dig their own graves.
