Sixteen
I focused on my presentation. He focused on my presentation.
In all honesty, today was still a success. The meeting was a breeze and I made tangible contributions, notwithstanding the awkward start. Now i can understand why everyone talks about him with awe and respect. The guy moves with charisma and he knows what he wants. I resolved in that meeting that I would respect him as our client and totally ignore our meeting at the wedding.
My team leader, on the other hand, shocked me quite a bit. So that is how Mr. Olusesan was giving the introduction during the meeting, saying that he had a soft spot for our company because his father started his career here - and my team leader started blushing as if he was talking about her.
It got more weird when she kept touching his arm intermittently. Was she making a pass at him? Mr. Olusesan is single and so is my team leader but - there are 4 other people in the room! He didn't seem to mind or care though. In fact, he completely ignored the gesture.
After Mr. Olusesan had left the building, my team leader casually pulled me to the side and said, "you know that i am adding you to this team so that you can take over the heavy work from me" and walked away.
What does that even mean? The flirting? Or the actual project work?
And why on earth did he introduce himself as "Kolade" if his real name was Folarin Olusesan??
